Bark Collars - Your puppy will be grown before you know it.  If for whatever reason you should get a puppy who likes to bark, PLEASE use the Cirtonella bark collar for training purposes and DO NOT use a "shock" collar.  The citronella collar is very safe and humane.  Your Golden will learn to not bark in no time!  It is a great investment should barking be an issue with your Golden.  I do not believe in shock collars AT ALL!  Please do not use them.
Choke chains and Ropes

I ask each one of you to NEVER use a choke chain when trainging your puppy.  Choke chains can be VERY dangerous to the vocal chords of your puppy.  If you are having issues training your Golden on a lead, use a VERY HUMANE method such as the Gentle Leader.  At first it will be awkward for your puppy, but it will adjust to the leader over the muzzle.  Your Golden will not be able to pull away from you and you will have control over your Golden while walking.

While I'm sure it is not an issue, I pray that no Golden be tied to a rope in a backyard setting.   A properly trained Golden should be able to run freely in your yard and socialize with family members.
Leaving your Golden in a Car -

I'm going to give you a link to a forum that discusses this subject.    Things to think about when leaving your dog in a car.  A dogs temperature can significantly rise in temperature.  Dogs can't sweat like humans can. They can only pant. Your dog's body temp only has to go up 3 degrees before they can no longer keep up by panting to cool off. 4 degrees more and they're going into heat stroke.

Your car can heat up 34 degrees in one minute in the sun. It can be 120 degrees in a car in just a few minutes.  You are also risking someone breaking into your car and stealing your most precious gift of life!  Your Beautiful GOLDEN!
